spring clean.

It's always such a great feeling when you clear out the old, and make room for new (clothes I mean). Spring is here and its time to clear out those closets and make room for some cheery, bright, and detailed threads. Every weekend I've been picking out clothes that meet the following criteria:

  • Haven't worn in 10 + years.
  • Torn, missing accessories, or washed out.
  • Haven't worn in over a year.

With large bags in hand, I make the trek down to the thrifty second hand clothing stores that are spread across this amazing 7x7 city. I often make Crossroads my first stop because they're looking for more modern pieces versus places like Wasteland, Static, and Held Over who more focused on vintage era focused items.

To make sure it's not a complete waste of your time, its best to call ahead so you know what types of clothing each store is looking for. Depending upon the season, it can vary, but if you have designer clothing and accessories that are in great condition, you may be in luck regardless if its snow or sun. Usually when you're selling clothes, the return isn't great, so don't expect big cash even if you paid major dollars at the department store. I normally take the store credit and scavenge the store in exchange for new items versus taking the cash. If you don't find anything that day, you might just find a real gem the next time.
